Pink came about on the scene with the smash "There You Go", in 2000. She was then signed to LaFace Records, and released an album title "Can't Take Me Home." The album went double platinium in the States, and sold 5 million copies worldwide. Everyone was loving this new, different, artist. By that summer she was an opening act four N'Sync's American Tour. With her debut album bringing much notary,in 2001 P!nk recorded a a cover of Patti Labelle's "Lady Marmalade", along side Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, and Mya. The song top the charts in countries! It became the most successful airplay-only single in history!The success of the single was helped by its music video, which won the MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year. This collaboration awarded P!nk her first Grammy Award! This brought her many more friends, but also gained her a rival. Once all four artist were schedule to meet on who would sing what part, Christina's manager insisted she would get the hightest part, and P!nk disagreed, and from there on it was rivalry. Pink took her sound in a new direction and sought more creative control during her second album, "Missundaztood." She recruited her favorite artist, Linda Perry, and together they brought out Alecia in the disguise of P!nk. P!nk wrote on this album,and released this self-defined image of her in November 2001.
